Top 5 Summer Products

These are the 5 things I truly cannot live without on a regular summer day.

1. Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer
Primer that makes whatever makeup you are wearing water resistant and humidity proof. On top of long-wearing, reduces pores and calms redness.
2. BB/CC/Tinted Moisturizer of choice
Come summertime these are my favorite complexion products. They usually have a higher spf which is nice to protect your skin. Along with sheer to medium coverage. Simply use your fingers to blend out. Light weight on the skin as well.
3.Waterproof mascara
Allergic season is among us. So waterproof mascara is simply a must have for me. Along with hot summer days it stays put even while swimming.
4. Shimmer Bronzer
Nothing is better then having a summer glow. I love shimmer finish bronzers during the summer to amp up the summer tan glow.
5. SPF setting spray (Coola SPF 30 or Supergoop SPF 50)
New product during the summer their both makeup setting sprays that not only keep everything in place but also protect your skin from UVA and UVB rays. Even without makeup you can give yourself a quick spray to protect your skin from any sun damage.

What is undertone? Cool tone? Warm tone?

Are you cool tone? Are you warm tone? Neutral tone?

It can get really confusing and hard to understand what an undertone is or why it has anything to do with makeup. But it plays a huge part with makeup, especially when it comes to picking out a perfect foundation. Now understand that the undertone is whats under the skin and that tone doesn't change. An easy way to tell what your tone is to simply turn over your forearm and look at your veins. Now if you see that your veins are blue or purple then you are cool tone. If you see that your veins are green then you are warm tone. Now in my case along with others if your veins appear blue-green then you are neutral tone. But in most cases neutral tone can sway more warm when deciding on which tone to pick. The tone as I said before plays a huge part on makeup in was to harmonize a look or to add contrast. When you are warm tone you can use warm shadows, blush colors or lip color to not only harmonizes but also being an easy way to guaranteeing a look will work best on you. (same rule if your cool tone) Now if you wanted to add contrast; a warm tone individual would use cool tone items to add a pop. As will a cool tone individual use warm tone items to add a pop to their skin. Hope this help to better understand what tone is and to help when buying foundation. XOXO

Current Favorite Foundation

Sorry I haven't been making any post lately but I'm back and will be posting weekly beauty post.
I thought since my complexion is something I get commented on a lot I would share two of my current favorite foundation both high-end and drugstore. Now I have oily-oily combination skin. I tend to like more of a matte finish to my foundations since most tend to help control the oils.

Drugstore: L'Oreal's Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation
This foundation literally is AMAZING!! I wear shade Sun Beige 106. Foundation claims to be both matte and long-wearing which are both i completely agree with. I've never loved a drugstore foundation as much as I do this one. It even competes with some of my higher brands. Usually retails anywhere from 11.99-14.99 depending on the location. Now most of these foundations are more warmer in tone. Meaning that they are most yellow based.

High-end: NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation
This foundation claims to be 16 hour wear, natural finish, oil-free, full coverage and light weight. Now I agree with most of those, however I will say this foundation is more of a matte finish on most skin types. I do not recommend this to anyone who is dry because the foundation will stick to any dry patches that are on the skin. Now this is long-wearing and full coverage; which is amazing at how light it feels. Usually full coverage foundations tend to be thicker in texture or feel heavy on the skin. This foundation is neither. My undertone (don't worry I will have a post up soon on what undertone is very soon) neutral. Most of NARS foundations are warmer tone but the shade that's working for me is Vallauris which is cooler tone foundation but matches perfectly to my skin tone. This foundation retails for $48.
